Areca

Areca is a tropical Asian palm of the genus of the same name belonging to the family Palmae. Several species of areca are found of which Areca catechu is particularly noteworthy because its nuts are often chewed with betel leaves, especially in several parts of India. Areca nut is the astringent seed of areca palm, which is also known as betel nut.
