Areola

Areola is a term in anatomy, biology, and medicine. It is a small circular area or a ring of pigmented skin surrounding a nipple, a reddened patch around a spot or papule, any of the small spaces between the veins of a leaf, or any of the small spaces between the nervures of an insect's wing.
