Aristomenes

Aristomenes was a mythical king of Messenia. He was celebrated for his struggle with the Spartans, and his resistance to them on Mount Ira for 11 years. Mount Ira ultimately fell to the enemy, while he escaped. Traditions narrate that he was snatched up by the gods. He died at Rhodes.
