Armadillo

Armadillo is a nocturnal omnivorous mammal, native to Central and South America, and south central regions of the United States of America. It has large claws and a body covered in bony plates. It used its claws for digging. It belongs to the family Dasypodidae of the order of Xenarthra or Edentala. Several genera and species of this mammal are found which included the nine-banded armadillo, zoological name of which is Dasypus novemcinctus.
