Aromatic is the quality of a substance or plant of being emitting a distinctive grateful smell and agreeable pungent taste.

In chemistry, it is a planar unsaturated ring of atoms in an organic compound that is stabilized by an interaction of the bonds forming the ring. These compounds are typified by benzene and its derivatives.
