Arpent

Arpent (Canadian) is a unit of measure of length used in New France. It is equivalent to about 190 feet (58 metres).

Arpent (Canadian) was also an old French unit of area of land. It was the standard measure of land in those areas settled during the French regime. It was in use until the 1970s. It was equivalent to 3,420 square metres (about one acre).
