Arrowhead

Arrowhead, literally head of an arrow, is the pointed end of an arrow, a decorative piece resembling it, or a plant having arrow-shaped leaves. An arrowhead or an arrow is typically wedge-shaped.

The plant of this name having leaves resembling an arrowhead is aquatic or semiaquatic, and bears three-petaled white flowers. It belongs to the genus Sagittaria, and the family Alismataceae. Several species of arrowhead are found of which Sagittaria latifolia is particularly noteworthy, which bears broad leaves.
