Arte Povera

Arte Povera, literally impoverished art, is a style and movement in art. The movement, originated in Italy in the 1960s, hoped of subverting the commercialization of art. It combined the aspects of conceptual, minimalist, and performance art. The worthless or common materials, such as stones or newspapers, were used to make a piece of art.
