Artemisinin

Artemisinin, qinghaosu in Chinese, is a terpene-based anti-malarial drug. It is obtained from a medicinal plant named Artemisia (qinghao in Chinese), botanical name Artemisia annua, belonging to the family Compositae. This substance is a blend of artemisia and quinine, and is used in Chinese medicine.
