Artichoke
Artichoke, also globe artichoke, is a plant native to Europe. Its botanical name is Cynara scolymus belonging to the family Compositae. It bears large thistlelike flower heads for which it is chiefly cultivated as an ornamental. The heart and the fleshy bases of the bracts of unopened flower head of this plant are edible. The flower heads are also called artichoke.
