Ascomycete
Ascomycete is a term in botany for a fungus, the spores of which develop within
asci. It belongs to the phylum Ascomycota, which was formerly a subdivision named Ascomycotina, and class Ascomycetes. This class of fungus includes mildew, yeasts, most molds, the fungal component of most lichens, and a few large forms such as morels and truffles.
