Ashkenazi

Ashkenazi is a Jew, a member of Ashkenazim, of central or eastern European descent. The word is derived from Ashkenaz who was son of Japheth, one of the sons of Noah (The Bible, Gen. 10:3). Some of them still use Yiddish Jewish traditions, but by and large, most of them preserve Palestinian ranter than Babylonian Jewish traditions.
