Asian is a native of Asia; a person of Asian descent; or anything of or relating to Asia or its people or languages. However, this word is used differently in Britain and North America. In Britain it is used to refer to a person from India, Pakistan, or other South Asian countries. However in North America, it is used to refer to to people from China, Japan, and other East Asian countries.
