Aspirin

Aspirin is a medicine that is used to relieve mild or chronic pain and to reduce fever and inflammation. It is a synthetic compound. Its chemical name is acetylsalicylic acid (C6H4(OCOCH3)COOH). Spir is a plant genus name Spiraea, from which the word aspirin is derived.
