Asti

Asti is an ancient city in Piedmont, on the Tanaro, 26 miles southeast from Turin. It is famous for a Gothic cathedral, and also famous for being the birthplace of Alfieri.

This Italian province and the neighbouring part of Piedmont is also noted for its wine of the same name. This wine is white in colour. There is also another wine of the same name which is light sparkling, and is also from the region of Asti.
