Astik

Astik was a sage in Indian mythology. He was a son of Jaratkaru. Astik’s mother Mansa, who was a sister of the great serpent Vasuki, is also a great woman. Astik saved the lives of the serpents like Takshak, Vasuki and many others at the time of Janmejay's sacrifice of serpents (Sarp Yagya).

It was he who persuaded the king to forego his 'persecution of the serpent race'.
