Aswan

Aswan is a city in southern Egypt. It is capital of the Aswan Governorate. The city is situated on the Nile River at about 16 km north of Lake Nasser and Aswan Dam. Two dams have been built here across the Nile for the purpose of hydroelectricity generation. Lake Nasser is behind the High Dam.
