Atomic mass unit

Atomic mass unit, or amu in short, is a measure in which atomic and molecular weights are expressed. One amu is equal to one-twelfth of the mass of an atom of carbon-12, the most common natural carbon isotope of mass 12. One amu is approximately 1.66x10-27 kg.
