Attainder

Attainder is a legal and historical term for forfeiture of land and civil rights of a convict after being awarded death sentence for treason or felony. In the United States, there used to be a 'bill of attainder', a piece of legislation which inflicted attainder without judicial process, but was prohibited by the Constitution of the United States.
