Auguste Bartholdi

Auguste Bartholdi (1834-1904), full name Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, was a French sculptor. He was the designer of the Statue of Liberty, a gift from the French people commemorating the alliance of France and the United States during the American Revolution.
