Authentic

Authentic is anything genuine and undisputed. As a philosophical term it denotes an emotionally appropriate, significant, purposive, and responsible mode of human life, or anything relating to it, such as an 'authentic living' in existentialist philosophy. It is also the notes in music, especially the church mode of music, that lies between the note an octave higher and the note that is principal or final.
