Automatism

Automatism is performance of actions automatically. Such actions are involuntary and are unconsciously performed. As a term in art, it denotes a process of production in which artist avoids conscious intention. Subconscious associations get manifested in such piece of art. Artists sometimes use mechanical techniques for such productions.
