Autumn crocus

Autumn crocus is a Eurasian plant. It belongs to the lily family. This crocuslike plant blooms in autumn, and is cultivated for its flowers as an ornamental. Several species of this plant are found of which the meadow saffron is particularly famous. It belongs to the genus Colchicum and the family Liliaceae.
