Avenue

Avenue is a broad road in an urban area, typically with trees along its both sides at somewhat regular intervals. However, a tree-lined path or road, especially one leading to a country house or similar building, is also called avenue. The word is also used in proper names indicative of the street number at which a thoroughfare in a city runs at right angles, such as First Avenue, Second Avenue and so on. Since an avenue is approach road, the word is also used to indicate a way of approaching a problem.
