Azimuth

Azimuth is a term in astronomy for the direction of a celestial body from the observer measured as angular distance either from the north or south point of the horizon to the point at which a vertical circle passing through the celestial body intersects the horizon.

Azimuth is also the direction of a compass bearing, or the horizontal angle used in navigation.
