B and b are the second letter of the English alphabet. As an academic mark B is the second highest class. It also denotes second-highest-category in other areas also, such as B categories institutions. In geology, it denotes a soil horizon of intermediate depth. In biology, it a blood group in the ABO system. In music, B is the seventh note of the diatonic scale of C major. It is also a key based on a scale with B as its keynote. The 'plan B' denotes an alternative strategy, while 'B team' denotes the team that is considered almost same as 'A team' in characteristics or net result if especially if voted or supported. In the game of chess, B is used in recording a move of the bishop. B also represent the black colour, especially while describing grades of pencil lead, such as in HB pencils. Bomber aircrafts are also designated by B. In chemistry, B is a symbol of the chemical element named boron. B is magnetic flux density in physics.
