Ba gua

Ba gua, literally eight divinatory symblols, also pa kua, is a Chinese religious motif. The eight trigrams of the / Ching are incorporated in this motif. These are typically arranged octagonally around a symbol or around a mirror. The symbol denotes the balance of yin and yang.

In feng shui, it is spelled as one word bagua. It is regarded as a pattern, and it is believed that this pattern determines the significance and auspicious qualities of spatial relationships.

Ba gua is also a name of a Chinese martial art. There is a circle and eight points around it. The movements are focused on the circle and the defense of the points.
