Babis

Babis are a modern Persian sect founded in 1843. Their doctrines are a mixture of pantheistic with Gnostic and Buddhist beliefs, which are adverse to polygamy, concubinage, and divorce. They insisted on the emancipation of women. They have suffered from persecution, but are increasing in numbers.
