Backdraught

Backdraught, also backdraft, is a current of air or water flowing backward down a chimney, pipe, etc. Backdraught is also a sudden explosion caused due to availability of oxygen at a time when the fire has already consumed the previously available oxygen. Such an explosion occurs typically when doors or windows are opened when the fire has already consumed all the available oxygen in the room.
