Balance of power

Balance of power is having roughly equal power with each of the nations of the world. It is also a preservation of the equilibrium existing among the States of Europe as a security of peace, for long an important consideration with European statesmen.

Balance of power also applies to other situations in which powers held by by groups or individuals are of equal strength.
