Balasaraswati

Balasaraswati (1918-1984) was a classical dancer of India. She was the great granddaughter of Veena Dhanammal (1867–1938) who is considered the most influential musician of the early twentieth century. Her mother Jayammal (1890–1967) was a versatile singer and tabla player. She blossomed into one of the greatest Bharatanatyam artists.
