Balearic Isles

Balearic Isles, also Balearic Islands or simply the Balearics, is a group of four large and seven small islands off the coast of Valencia, in Spain, Majorca the largest. They are situated in the Mediterranean off the eastern coast of Spain.

The Balearics form an autonomous region of Spain which Palma as its capital city which is located on the largest island of Majorca.

The inhabitants of these isles in ancient times were famous as expert slingers, having been one and all systematically trained to the use of the sling from early childhood.
