As per the story, Bali killed demon Dundubhi. He threw the demon’s body that fell on the Rishyamuk forest where the Sage Matang was performing a sacrifice. Sage matang grew angry and cursed Bali. Sage Matant warned him if he entered the forest his head would burst into hundred pieces.

According to Indian mythology, once a demon Mayavi chllanged Bali to fight. Bali followed Mayavi into a cave and killed him. At that time his brother Sugriv was waiting outside the cave. Sugriv saw some blood gushing out from that cave. He thought Bali was dead. So he shut the cave’s door and returned Kishkindha where he was crowned the king by the ministers of Bali. Bali opened cave’s door and saw that his brother Sugriv was not there. Bali returned and thought his brother tried to kill him. Finding him a crowned king, Bali grew angry. Sugriv fled from Kishkindha and went to that forest where he knew that Bali could not enter because of the curse of sage Matang.

When lord Ram and Lakshaman came to Pampa in search of Sita, Sugriv agreed to help them. In returen, Lord Ram helped Sugriv in the fight with his brother Bali. Bali was killed by Ram.
