Ball-and-socket joint

Ball-and-socket joint is a natural or manufactured product in which a partially spherical end lies in a socket. It is a joint or coupling. It allows multidirectional rotation or movement. The manufactured products are sometimes used as replacement of the natural, such as the hip joint.
