Balsa

Balsa, also balsa wood, is a very lightweight wood, and the tree from which the wood is obtained. Due to its being lightweight, it is used in making rafts and models. It is a fast-growing tropical American tree. Its botanical name is Ochroma lagopus, and it belongs to the family Bombacaceae.
