Balthazar

Balthazar is a variant spelling of Balthasar, one of the three Magi.

Balthazar was also a king of Babylon mentioned in the Bible. A very large wine bottle of 12 litres capacity, is also called balthazar, after his name. According to Daniel 5:1 in the Bible, Balthazar "made a great feast...and drank wine before a thousand". As a measure, one balthazar is equivalent to 16 ordinary bottles of wine.
