Bangeswar Roy

Bangeswar Roy was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. He was born 08.12.1911 at Gandaria, Dacca, now in Bangladesh. He belonged to Shree Sangha. After his arrest on 30.10.1931, he was sentenced to 10 years R.I. and deported to Andamans, where he partcipated in both hunger strikes at the Cellular jail and again in 1939 July in Dum Dum Central jail for 36 days. He was repatriated in January 1938, and subsequently released on 29th of September 1939. His total jail period was 8 years.
