Barbadoes

Barbadoes, the variant spelling of Barbados, is one of the Windward Islands, rather larger than the Isle of Wight. This island is almost encircled by coral reefs, and is the most densely peopled of the Windward Islands. It is subject to hurricanes. The land is healthy and well cultivated, which yields sugar, arrowroot, ginger, and aloes.
