Barbarism

Barbarism is a way of life without culture and civilization, and thereby resorting to extreme level of cruelty or brutality.

In linguistics, it is a practice of formation of words and phrases against the traditional philological rules. For example, elements of two different languages should not be joined together to form a word according to traditional rules, but some popular words such as 'television' is formed by violating this rule by joining Greek and Latin elements.
