Barbecue

Barbecue, also barbeque, is a feast in the open air on a large scale, at which the animals are roasted and dressed whole, formerly common in the southwest States of North America. However, in modern usage, barbecue denotes a meal or gathering at which meat, fish, or other food items are cooked over an open fire on a rack or grill. The portable grill or the fireplace used in such roasting is also called barbecue and also the food cooked.
