Barmen
Barmen was a long town, consisting of a series of hamlets, 6 miles in extent, in Rhenish Prussia. The population consisted chiefly of Protestants. The staple industry was the manufacture of ribbons, and it was the centre of that industry on the Continent. Later it became part of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and it was merged with four other towns in 1929 to form the city of Wuppertal.Nearby pages
