Bartsia
Bartsia is a herbaceous plant belonging to the figwort family. It is named after the Prussian botanist Johann Bartsch (1709-38). Some of its kinds attach themselves to the roots of other plants, especially grasses, and thereby obtain additional nourishment. It belongs to the genus Bartsia and other genera and the family Scrophulariaceae. The pink-flowered 'red bartsia' (Odontites serotina) is one of the notable varieties among its several species.
