Bashert

Bashert, in Jewish tradition, is a woman to whom someone is destined to marry. Thus in the Jewish religious philosophy, bashert is a man's soulmate to be joined together in matrimony, and is considered an ideal as a marriage partner, since the God has made her for the particular man (ie the basherter). The God is thus the Supreme matchmaker in Jewish tradition originated from the Hebrew tradition.
