Bastard

Bastard is a derogatory term for someone born of parents not married to each other. Such children were formerly considered illegitimate both in legal and nonlegal sense of the term. Today, this term has no legal relevance, and its use is considered archaic. However, it is sometimes used informally as an abuse for an unpleasant person, especially one considered to be despicable.
