Battery

Battery is an energy storage device made up of one or more electrolyte cells. Chemical energy is converted in such a container into electricity, In military, a battery is a fortified emplacement for heavy guns, and also an artillery subunit which includes guns, army personnel, and their vehicles. An extensive series, sequence, range of similar things, or a set of units of equipment is called a battery, such as battery of tests or a battery of equipment. As a legal term, a battery is the crime or tort of unconsented physical contact with another person, even if not violent but merely offensive or menacing for the victim. In baseball, the battery is the unit of the pitcher and the catcher.

The Battery is also an area of historical importance lying at the southern end of Manhattan Island in New York City in the United States.
