Battleship

Battleship is a heavy warship with extensive armour and large-caliber guns. Such a warship was first built in late 19th century and many followed in early 20th centuries. Originally, the word was used with reference to the largest wooden warships in late 18th century, which were called 'line-of-battle ship' at that time. The term was shortened to make the word 'battleship'.
