Bay of Diego Suarez

Bay of Diego Suarez, also known as Antsiranana Bay after 1975, is a natural bay situated on the northeast of Madagascar stretching close to 20 kilometres (12 miles) north to south along its northeast coast. It is named after the two Portuguese explorers Diego Diaz and Fernando Suarez who visited Madagascar as explorers in 1506. Diego Suarez, Antsiranana since 1975, is the principal city located on its headland.
