Bêche-de-mer

Bêche-de-mer, also spelled Beach-la-mar, and also called trepang, is a slug, a large sea cucumber, a marine animal of the class Holothuroidea. It belongs to the genera Actinopyga and Holothuria. These are procured on the coral reefs of the Pacific, which is dried and eaten as a dainty by the Chinese and Japanese people.
