Bedstraw

Bedstraw is a herbaceous plant, named so because it was formerly used for stuffing mattresses. It bears small, lightly perfumed, white or yellow flowers and whorls of slender leaves. It belongs to the genus Galium, and the family Rubiaceae. The 'yellow bedstraw' (Galium verum) is the best known among its several species.
