Beet
Beet is a herbaceous plant, widely cultivated either for their leaves or roots. It is a source of nutritious food for both humans and livestock. Some of the varieties are processed into sugar. Its botanical name is Beta vulgaris, and it belongs to the family Chenopodiaceae.There are several subspecies of this plant, including the plant belonging to the subspecies vulgaris that produces popular spherical dark red edible root eaten as vegetable. It is eaten raw in salads, and also cooked along with other vegetables. Beet juice is also consumed as nutrition for good health.
